The Niger Country Office understands this deeply. That is why, during the 2025 Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the CO’s commitment was unmistakable—from senior leadership to newly arrived staff. The Country Director, Kinday SAMBA, set the tone through her visible, active participation, demonstrating that cyber vigilance is not a technical niche, but a shared responsibility woven into every aspect of WFP’s work.
The final session on 30 October became the defining moment of the month. What began as a technical briefing evolved into an impromptu discussion with Kinday giving real life examples of all our vulnerabilities to cybercriminal activity. She spoke plainly about how a single careless click or unsecured device could cascade into consequences far beyond the screen. She gave examples that were relatable and grounded in real‑world scenarios that made everyone in the room connect with the issues. Her reflections drew a direct line between digital vigilance and operational integrity.
One key takeaway from the session was the reminder from Stephane NAPPO that- “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and a few minutes of cyber-incident to ruin it.”
Cybersecurity Month may have ended, but the conversations it sparked—and the leadership shown throughout—made one thing clear: in Niger, cybersecurity is everyone’s business.
